With the objective of honoring the importance of the Chinese community in the history and culture of Baja California, the Secretariat of Culture headed by Alma Delia Ábrego Ceballos, presents the artistic program of the Chinese New Year Festival 2025, which will be dedicated to the Wood Snake.

The Festival kicks off on Saturday, February 1st in La Chinesca, from 1:00 to 8:30pm, with the participation of more than 200 artists on stage, which promises to be a unique celebration of traditions, art and gastronomy that unites two cultures.

The activities will take place in the emblematic Chinesca, where the Umbral parade will take place. There will also be dance performances, music, plays, workshops, a Chinese fashion show and the participation of the Baja California Orchestra Quartet (OBC).

Other activities will take place at the State Historical Archive, such as the documentary exhibition “Chinese Migrants and Pioneers in Mexicali 1942”, the Luna Sierra play and an OBC concert at the State Theater. The invitation is open for citizens and visitors to enjoy this unique experience that combines tradition and modernity. The Ministry of Culture reiterates its commitment to promote events that enrich cultural diversity and strengthen community ties.
