The bays of San Luis Gonzaga and Bahia de los Ángeles are the destinations par excellence in Baja California to witness one of the most impressive migratory phenomena: the visit of the whale shark, the largest fish in the world. From June to December, these bays at the Gulf of California, known as the “Aquarium of the World”, become the temporary home of this majestic and peaceful species.
With calm waters and dazzling turquoise beaches, these bays provide the perfect setting for watching and swimming alongside the whale shark. This ocean giant can reach up to 20 meters in length and weigh more than 15 tons, but its gentle nature makes it a safe and fascinating experience for marine life enthusiasts.
