With the goal of honoring the importance of the Chinese community in the history and culture of Baja California, the Ministry of Culture, led by Alma Delia Ábrego Ceballos, presents the artistic program of the 2025 Chinese New Year Festival, dedicated to the Wood Snake.
The festival kicks off on Saturday, February 1, in La Chinesca, from 1:00 PM to 8:30 PM, featuring over 200 artists on stage, promising a unique celebration of traditions, art, and gastronomy that bridges two cultures. Activities will take place in the iconic La Chinesca district, including the Umbral Parade.
There will also be performances of dance, music, theater, workshops, a Chinese fashion show, and a performance by the Baja California Orchestra Quartet (OBC). Additional events will be held at the State Historical Archive, such as the documentary exhibition “Chinese Migrants and Pioneers in Mexicali 1942”, the play Luna Sierra, and an OBC concert at the State Theater.
The invitation is open for citizens and visitors to enjoy this unique experience that blends tradition and modernity. The Ministry of Culture reiterates its commitment to promoting events that enrich cultural diversity and strengthen community bonds.
